The Aligarh Muslim University procured
a license from Indian Oil Corporation to distribute Indane cooking gas to its employees. A.M.U. Gas Agency is a now a service
provider to its employees, Hospitals, Canteens, Dining Halls, Guest houses, and
Departmental Laboratories. Total customers at A.M.U Gas Agency are
approximately 8500.
AMU Gas Agency office is situated Near Faiz Gate within University campus while its Go-down is on Baraula by pass road, Near Faculty of Law. For both the buildings separate staff is deputed. Go-down area mainly concerned with the LPG housing and its delivery to the consumers.
In the past, Prof. Mohammad Mohsin Khan, Prof. Mohd Iqbal, Prof. (Late) Irfan Ahmad, Prof. Mohammad Akram. Prof. Malik Irshad Ullah and Prof. Mohammad Sohrab have worked in the capacities of Member In Charge of AMU Gas Agency and given their all out efforts to improve functioning of the Agency in their own ways. Now, Prof. Riaz Ahmad is discharging his duties as Member In charge of the Agency since October, 2022. Recently, AMU Gas Agency has been rated FIRST in the category of Composite connection among the distributors of the Western Uttar Pradesh for which the Agency received citation along with a plaque in a function held at Varanasi, UP in 2023. Further, at many fronts the Agency is trying to streamline all SOPs to make them consumer friendly.
