The Central Automobile Workshop (CAW) was set-up in January 1984. It is a service which undertakes maintenance and repair of all University vehicles. The servicing, repair and maintenance of these vehicles are carried out by the staff/mechanic of CAW which is very economical as compared to the open market. For this purpose different sections of CAW have been functioning with all facilities. Presently 93 University vehicles are working satisfactorily on the road. All these vehicles are successfully repaired and maintained by CAW. Other facilities available at CAW are:
Auto Care Center
The Auto Care Centre provides facility for washing of University vehicles and the vehicles of staff and student. To avail, this facility one has to pay the amount as decided by University. The total income thus generated is deposited in the Revolving Fund of Auto Care Centre.
Tyre Inflator machine is used to provide to air to the University vehicles and the vehicles of the University staff and student free of cost.
Insurance of the University vehicles is renewed through CAW. All the work related to RTO office such as permit, fitness and extension of RC is also done by CAW.
CAW also maintains University Filling Station. It was established in May 1986. It is supplying petrol, diesel and lubricating oil to all university vehicles and also to the vehicles owned by the University Staff and Students. At present, the University Filling Station receives petrol and diesel from Mathura refinery of India Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). Recently IOCL had undertaken massive maintenance, up-gradation and repair work at University Filling Station. Now it has two underground tanks having the capacity to store 20KL of petrol per tank and one underground tank to store 20KL of diesel. Similarly, two old single nozzle dispensing unit has been replaced with two new MDPs with four nozzles respectively. A new canopy has also been erected in the premises of CAW.
