Dr. Sumbul Rehman: Obtained M.D (Unani Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical sciences) in the year 2010 and is presently an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Prior to this position, she also served on different research projects as a Research fellow between 2011-2015. Over the years, Dr. Rehman has done extensive research studies in the thrust areas of phytochemistry, drug standardization, pharmacology, microbiology, and molecular biology. She has to her credit over 70 research papers including chapters in books published in India and abroad. Besides, she has also edited and compiled a number of proceedings of scientific conferences on Unani Medicine.

As a part of her administrative skills, she has been an active member of various working committees, warden of Abdullah Hall (2017-2019) and Indira Gandhi Hall since 2020 to date

Excellent researcher and a dedicated faculty, Dr. Rehman has been the recipient of many Awards and Honors commencing from her student days, obtaining University Gold Medals both at BUMS and M.D. examinations. Subsequently, she has been adjudged for ‘Young Scientist Award (2021); Bharat Excellence Award (2019); Leading Educationist of India (2019); Outstanding Women in Health and Medical Science (2018), and many others. Recognizing her academic talents, Dr. Rehman has been invited and delivered a series of guest lectures at various scientific meets in India and abroad during 2016-2022 and chaired several scientific sessions. 

Reviewer for many scientific journals, currently Dr. Sumbul Rehman is actively engaged in teaching and applied research including Member, Advisory Board of ongoing DRS-II project in thrust areas ‘upgradation of standardization, pharmacology and pharmacognosy of Unani drugs’ sponsored by DRS-II (UGC) SAP-II, Govt. of India, New Delhi since 2018.
