The admissions for
M.Phil and Ph.D Progroramme in the centre will
commence from academic session 2012-2013
Aligarh Muslim University offers a full time programme
leading to Master of Philosophy/ Doctor of Philosophy degree in various
centres/ departments of research.
A candidate will be eligible for admission to a
Course of study leading to the degree of M.Phil/Ph.D if he/she has passed the
Masters Degree examination from this university or an equivalent
examination recognized by this university ,with not less than 55% marks or
equivalent grade in a subject relevant to his/her
proposed field of research. Candidates are admitted to M.Phil/Ph.D program through
admission test followed by Interview. For details see the University Ordinances

Specialization : International Relations/Area Studies
*Number of Seats : Subject to the
approval of Board of Studies of the Centre & the number of faculty members
available in each area of specialization for supervising M.Phil/Ph.D students .

*Futuristic Planning:
To strengthen its research and teaching base the
centre intends to start one year part time language
certificate course in Afrikaan and Portuguese languages.
(a) Part time Language certificate course in Afrikaan
The
newly created centre for South African & Brazilian studies propose to start a
one-year Part Time Language Certificate in Afrikaan language for those research
students pursuing researches on bi-lateral ties between
India & South Africa or on South Africa . The language certificate
course will also be available for those students
interested in establishing base in South Africa or are interested in
working with South African companies and
establishments in India and abroad .
(b) Part time Language certificate course in Portuguese
The language certificate course in Portuguese Language will be offered to the researchers in the Centre. Learning Portuguese will give students more insight about the society and the life of the local population in Brazil for better understanding .

Area study experts may seek job opportunities in the following fields:
(1) Teaching & Research in the institutions of higher learning and other organizations such as ICSSR, ICCR, ICHR
(2) In Apex Business concerns such as FICCI etc.
(3) Area & Language expert in Defense & Intelligence Sector
