CONSERVATIVE DENTISTRY & ENDODONTICS DAY CELEBRATED on 05th March,2021


"Restorative part is the most important part for an endodontically treated tooth to survive lifetime in a proper way. Conservative Dentistry and endodontics are inseparable as the decision for root canal treatment is taken keeping in mind the restorative aspect", said Prof SK Mishra (Chairman, Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Dr. Z.A Dental College, Aligarh Muslim University). He was addressing the Endodontics Day programme held in the department.

He delineated the treatment facilities at the Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics.

Prof Mishra further said Federation of Operative Dentistry (FOD) was formed on March 5, 1982, which was renamed as Indian Association of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics (IACDE) in the year 2011.

A plantation drive was also held on the occasion. Prof Rajendra Kumar Tiwari (Principal, Dr ZA Dental College, and faculty members Dr Syed Mukhtar Un Nisar Andrabi, Dr Huma Iftekhar and others took part in the programme and the plantation drive.

WEB TALK ON EVOLVING TRENDS IN ENDODONTIC SURGE2RY

Aligarh, January 20: Prof Pravin Kumar, Head, Department of Dentistry, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jodhpur elucidated the transformation of endodontic surgery into endodontic microsurgery; the state-of-the-art equipments, instruments and materials used in the procedure and microsurgical approaches producing predictable outcomes in the healing process among other topics.

He was delivering a web talk on 'Evolving Trends and Perspectives in Endodontic Surgery' organised by the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Dr Z A Dental College (ZADC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on 18th january,2021.

Prof Pravin delineated modern procedures to remove the causative agents of radicular and periradicular diseases and to restore tissues to functional health.

"We must continuously run well controlled experiments, clinical as well as biological, on many new techniques and materials to meet the present and future challenges," he asserted.

Prof Pravin further spoke on the necessity of assertively teaching the future generation of graduate students, and also providing the dental surgeons with hands-on training in latest techniques.

Prof R K Tewari (Principal, ZADC) extended the vote of thanks, while Prof S K Mishra (Chairman, Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics) delivered the welcome address.

Dr Huma Iftekhar conducted the webinar.
