In the light of the letter issued by Principal, Dr.Z.A.Dental College & Hospital vide even No. dated 03-09-2022 & in compliance of the instruction received from Ministry of Education vide letter F.No.11017/04/2022-EBSB dated 12-08-2022, Swachhata Pakhwada Programme organized in the Deptt. of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Dr.Z.A.Dental College & Hospital on 14^th September,2022, faculty Members,Non Teaching Staff & Residents participated and Dr.Huma Iftekhar(Assistant Professor) delivered lecture on this occasion on the topic “Hygiene and Sanitation”

Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics celebrated the “Endodontics day” on 5^th March, 2022, speaking on the occasion Prof.S.K.Mishra, Chairman, Deptt. of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics apprised that federation of operative Dentistry was formed on 5^th March, 1982 by 5 most respected senior teachers in operative Dentistry.

The name of F.O.D.I was changed to I.A.C.D.E (Indian Association of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics) in year2011.Ist IACDE was celebrated on 05^th March, 2017.

We all must remember the restorative part (conservative part also include restorative part) is most important for an endodontically treated tooth to survive lifetime in a proper way. The decision wheather or not to go for R.C.T (root canal treatment) should be made if the restoration can be done in proper way that is why conservative and endodontics is inseparable.

The Deptt. of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics is basically a deal with the conservation of tooth and provide life time prevention of tooth in the arch to facilitate in ease of chewing process and makes the patient happy and healthy.

Dr.Sana Shadab Senior Resident in the Deptt. arranged Quiz competition among the teaching staff and Resident of the Deptt., further Residents Dr.Asmat Fatima, Dr.Shaziya Anjum, Dr.Sarah Ahmad, Dr.Daiashrailang Lyngdoh, Dr.Faiza Javed, Dr.Fatima Siddiqui and Dr.Nandani Kumari Presented scientific poster on the auspicious day.

On this endodontic day, Prof.Rajendra Kumar Tewari (Principal, Dr.Z.A.Dental College & Hospital) encourage and distributing the participating certificates to all faculty members and Residents.

The faculty members, Prof.Ashok Kumar, Dr.Syed Mukhtar Un Nisar Andrabi, Dr.Huma Iftekhar, Dr.Sharique Alam, Dr.Sajid Ali along with the resident doctors took part in the endodontic day.

"Restorative part is the most important part for an endodontically treated tooth to survive lifetime in a proper way. Conservative Dentistry and endodontics are inseparable as the decision for root canal treatment is taken keeping in mind the restorative aspect", said Prof SK Mishra (Chairman, Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Dr. Z.A Dental College, Aligarh Muslim University). He was addressing the Endodontics Day programme held in the department.

He delineated the treatment facilities at the Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics.

Prof Mishra further said Federation of Operative Dentistry (FOD) was formed on March 5, 1982, which was renamed as Indian Association of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics (IACDE) in the year 2011.

A plantation drive was also held on the occasion. Prof Rajendra Kumar Tiwari (Principal, Dr ZA Dental College, and faculty members Dr Syed Mukhtar Un Nisar Andrabi, Dr Huma Iftekhar and others took part in the programme and the plantation drive.
