After completing this Programme, the students will be able to:

  • Join teaching profession in primary and secondary schools.

  • Enhance their employability for government jobs. Particularly, they can become Research Assistants, Assistant Statisticians, Statistical Investigators, Data Analysts, etc. a part of the Subordinate Statistical Service (SSS) cadre under the ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementations, GOI.

  • Acquire jobs in Banking, Insurance and Investment Sectors. They can also get various job opportunities in many other public and private enterprises.

On successful completion of the studies at B. Sc. (Hons.) Programme in Mathematics, all students should be able to:

  • Understand and present sophisticated mathematical arguments and rigorous proofs.

  • Comprehend high levels of abstraction in the study of pure mathematics.

  • Apply physical insight and mathematical techniques to the solution of problems in applied mathematics.

  • Assimilate and manipulate substantial bodies of knowledge.

  • Apply critical, analytical reasoning and to present logical and concise arguments.

  • Elaborate the core topics of advanced mathematics which the Department considers appropriate to their B.Sc.(Hons.) Programme.

  • Use their mathematical knowledge to solve problems.
