Department of Munafeul Aza (Physiology)
Established in the year 2000, the Department of Tashreeh-wa-Munafeul Aza is providing teaching and training in the subject Munafeul Aza (Medical Physiology) to Unani medical students, at undergraduate and post-graduate levels. The department is continuously striving for improvements in the standards of the teaching and training, adopting better teaching methodologies, developing student oriented cum need based curricula and evolving holistic and comprehensive evaluation methods. To help students develop critical thinking and a balanced approach towards the health and disease, the department is not only providing a breadth and depth of knowledge in the area of physiology but simultaneously allowing the students to have an insight into the fundamental principles of Unani philosophy of health and disease. In the area of research, the thrust is on validating the theories and therapies of Unani Medicine using modern physiology as a tool.
In the year 2011, after the department of Tashreehul Badan was bifurcated from it, this department was rechristened as Department of Munafeul Aza.
To be recognized as a premier institute of research and higher education in Munafeul Aza globally, where it can contribute significantly to the development of the health care system.
Conduct research in the areas of fundamental principles of Unani Medicine.
Scientific Validation of Unani medicine - its theories and practices to make it globally acceptable.
Demand driven Human Resource Development to meet the requirements of Educational institutes& Hospitals.
Dissemination of innovative methods and processes for growth of Unani Medicine.
Provide R&D support towards generation and dissemination of knowledge for improved Unani health care service and greater acceptance and use of Herbal products leading to the social, economic and environmental benefits to the Nation.
