Dr. Rais Ahmad is presently  working as Professor in the Department of Applied Chemistry since 2016. Dr. Ahmad also worked as PDF fellow in South Korea and carried out his research in nanotechnology especially the synthesis of gold nano particles by using green chemistry. Dr. Ahmad is actively engaged in research and teaching. Dr. Ahmad was awarded a project under young scientist scheme by UPCST. Dr. Ahmad's area of research is water pollution, especially the removal of dyes and heavy metals from aqueous solution and industrial waste water by adsorption process with the help of non- conventional, low cost adsorbents and bio-nanocomposite materials. Dr. Ahmad has published  Eighty two (82) research articles in the journal of international repute such as Journal of Hazardous Material, Journal of Environmental Management, Bioresource Technology, Journal of Chemical Engineering, Desalination, Biodegradation, Arabian Journal of Chemistry, Separation Science and Technology, Journal of Chemical Engineering Data (JACS). Dr. Ahmad has also reviewed more than Two hundred fiftyfive (255) research articles in (Elsevier, Nature, ACS, RSC, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Bentham Science). Dr. Ahmad's research article has been cited in the world top ten articles in the domain of adsorption. Dr. Ahmad has also supervised eleven (11) students for their Ph. D./M. Phil degrees . Dr. Ahmad has also guided thirty three (33) Post graduate students for their project thesis. Dr. Ahmad has also contributed four book chapters published by national and international publishers. Dr. Ahmad is also working as Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board member & Advisory member in the journals of international repute. Total citations of Dr. Ahmad's research papers are 6044, h-index-38 and i10-index-66. Dr. Ahmad name has been continuously cited  since 2019 in the world top 2% scientists, conducted by Stanford University, USA (2019-2022). Dr. Ahmad name has been cited in the world top 1 lac scientists and 4th rank in AMU by Elsevier B.V. (2021) Dr. Ahmad has also served the university administration in various capacities such as warden of the Halls, Asstt Exam supdtt., Departmental coordinator NBA, IQAC and NIRF.
