Dr. Asfia Sultan is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology, J.N.M.C., A.M.U., Aligarh. Dr. Asfia completed her M.B.B.S from J.N.M.C., A.M.U and MD in Microbiology from the same institution. Currently working in Bacteriology section of Department of Microbiology. Her field of interest are Bacteriology, Antimicrobial Resistance, Virology,  and Hospital infection prevention and control. She is the recipient of “Bill & Melinda gates Professional Development Award” at International Congress on Infectious Diseases organized by ISID  at Malaysia, 2022.
In Jan 2020, she underwent training on IPC practices and surveillance at JIPMER, Pondicherry. She has completed a project entitled "Orientia tsutsugamushi bacteremia and cytokine analysis in Scrub typhus patients in North India (grant 358950/- Rs)" sanctioned under the Early career research advancement scheme of SERB DST.

She has won the Second best paper award for her research paper entitled "BACTERIAL MENINGITIS IN NORTH INDIA: TRENDS IN ANTIMICROBIAL RESISTANCE" presented at 10th Annual Conference of IAMM UP Chapter, UP MICROCON 2014 held at School of Medical Sciences & Research, Sharda University, Greater Noida on 1st February 2014. She has many research publications in International and National Journals to her credit namely World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, International Journal of Applied Biology and Pharmaceutical Technology, Journal of Infection and Public Health, Journal of Pure and Applied Microbiology, Tropical Gastroenterology.
