Prof. V.K. Srivastava completed MBBS from K.Gâ??s Medical College in 1972. He completed M.Ch (Neurosurgery) from National Institute of Medical Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore in 1979. He worked as a faculty at NIMHANS Bangalore till 1984. He worked as consultant neurosurgeon at Saudi Arabia for three years, where he established neurosurgery at Majmaâ????ah,Riyadh. He joined AMU, Aligarh in 1988, where he continues to work till this date. His interests include history of neurosciences in ancient India, on which he has written several articles. His research interest in spinalcord regeneration (SCR). He established a regenarating model of SCR in garden lizards, for which he was awarded SS PARMAR award at Indian Academy of Neurosciences meet at Chandigarh in 1990. His clinical intersts are optochiasmal arachnoiditis, tuberculous meningitis. Wound healing in trophic ulcers and pituitary tumours. He has 50 publicatins to his credit, out of which 8 are in international journals. He has authored two books MIND BRAIN AND THE UNIVERSE (2000) and UNDERSTANDING BACKACHE (2010).
