I have the experience of teaching different courses to the students of Graduation, Post-Graduation and Research of Sociology, as well as to the students of Engineering (B.Arch)., BA.L.L.B. and MSW. during the twenty three years of teaching career. Sociology of Minorities, Indian Society, Sociological Concepts, and Sociology of Religion have been the major courses of my teaching interest. Whereas, my research interest centered around issues of Indian Muslims mainly Muslims of Uttar Pradesh (UP). My PhD is about a community of Muslims of U.P. called Banjars which has not been yet studied by any other sociologist. I have also the experience of conducting baseline surveys of Muslims in various districts of UP. Besides organizing various seminars/conferences, I have authored/edited five books on different areas related with socio-economic and educational status of Muslims. Indian Journal of Gender Studies, Man in India, Journal of Islam and Muslim Societies, are some of the journals I have published research articles.
