Dr. Mohamed Quamrul Hooda Faridi joined Aligarh Muslim University as Lecturer in the Department of Urdu in February, 1993, now working as Professor in the Department of Urdu at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, UP, India.

He obtained his M.A, M.Phil and Ph.D Degree from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.  He also qualified NET-JRF.

Professor Mohamed Quamrul Hooda Faridi is credited with getting published 17 Books. 

Besides, his 69 Research Papers and 20 Articles have been published in several prominent journals, which include– Fikr-o-Nazar, Kitab Numa, Alfaz, Auraq, Zaban-o-Adab, Naya Daur, Ghalib Nama, Urdu Nama, Adab-o-Saqafat to name a few.

He is also the recipient of several prestigious awards and accolades for his remarkable Books, which include–

UP Urdu Academy Awards -

      1. Urdu Dastan: Tahqeeq-o-Tanqeed.

      2. Tilism-e-Hoshruba Tanqeed-o-Talkhees.

       3. Izhar-o-Iblagh.


Bihar Urdu Academy Awards -

      1. Sir Syed Aur Urdu Zaban-o-Adab.

      2. Kalimuddin Ahmad Award on the book “Urdu Nasr: Asnaf-o-Asaleeb”.

He has been instrumental in several Magazine and Journals -    

  1. Joint Editor, “Tahzibul Akhlaq” - Urdu magazine, published from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.

He has attended more than 50 seminars, conferences and symposia and chaired a number of sessions.

He has also attended several workshops across the country.

More than 20 times he delivered the lecture as a Resource Person and illuminated the young minds by imparting the knowledge and inculcating in them the love of learning Urdu Language.

12 Research scholars have been awarded PhD Degree, 1 Research scholar has been awarded M Phil Degree, currently, 6 Research scholars are working on issues related to Urdu literature under his supervision.

His domain of interest lies in Urdu Prose: specifically Dastan, History of Urdu Language, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and Aligarh Movement.
