G-20 Themed Events held at the Centre for Skill Development and Career Planning
Meri Mati Mera Desh Events 

The following competitions have been conducted and many more to come to mark the success:

  • To mark Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and ‘Har Khar Tiranga’ campaign and in observance of Independence Week 2022 a Flower Arrangement Competition in tricolours of our National Flag –Tiranga was organized by the Centre for Skill Development and Career Planning, Women’s College, on 11.08.2022. Around thirty students from the Women’s College and the Centre participated in the event.
  • To create awareness about ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and, became a part of the Independence Day 2022 celebrations and ‘Har Ghar Tiranga campaign’, Centre has organized a Poster Making Competition on 06.08.2022. The centre has invited the students of Centre and Women’s College to prepare posters on any one of the above themes.
  • Under the banner “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” a Creative SessionPoster Making Competition on the topic “Cyber Crime and Safety” was organized by the Centre on 03.08.2022. A total No. of twenty-two students participated and showed their creativity.
  • In observance of Cyber Jaagrookta Divas (CJD) on 06.07.2022 students were apprised about Mobile Apps and Security, USB Storage Device Security, Mobile Connectivity, Preventive Measures to be taken in Cyber Space, Forgery and fraud from mobile devices, Cyber risk associated with various online activities, and work on different digital platforms safety and the reporting of cyber crime. More than 100 students of the Centre and from Women’s College benefitted from the said programme.
  • Centre organized two days Workshop on Summer Hair-Care & Styling on 15th and 16th June 2022, in collaboration with NS4 Academy, Aligarh (powered by L’Oreal) to discuss hair problems during summers and their solution. More than 100 students of the Centre and from Women’s College, benefitted from the said programme.
  • Centre conducted two days Hands-on-Training Program ‘Hand Embroidery and Capacity Building’ on 13th and 14th June 2022 to train the students about basic stitches and needle painting. More than 50 students of the Centre and from Women’s College, Community College, Women’s Polytechnic, and Institute of Designing and Fashion Technology (IDFT) have benefitted from the said programme. The main focus was on the teaching and learning of basic stitches of traditional Hand Embroidery.
  • In observance of Cyber Jaagrookta Divas (CJD) Centre has started a series of awareness sessions on ‘Cyber Crime and Safety’ to develop insight about cyber crime tactics cyber hygiene, safety measures for prevention and reporting of cyber crime. In this connection, the first session was held on the first Wednesday of the month of June, which was on 01.06.2022. 120 students were apprised about cyber crimes and their kind, spotting fake Apps and fake news on social media and the internet, internet ethics, online shopping threats, ATM scams, mobile phone security, etc.
  • To celebrate ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and on the occasion of the Matrabhasha Divas (Mother Language Day), the Centre organized an Online Painting Competition ‘A reflection of Languages and Multiculturalism of India’ on 21.02.2022. To increase awareness of the Linguistic and Cultural traditions in India through creative expression, paintings were prepared by the students and submitted online.
  • Under the aegis of ‘Azadi ka Mahotsav’ (AKAM) and on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Independence, Centre organized an Awareness Drive ‘Come together to celebrate the goodness of Yogain support  of 75 Crore Surya Namaskar Project initiated by the Ministry of Ayush, from 31.01.2022 to 20.02.2022 . The Centre as well as individual participants received e-Certificate upon completing 21 days Surya Namaskar Challange.

Past Events:

Twenty one days crash course of  'Basic Garments' was conducted by the Centre from 24th February  to 21st March 2020. Twenty seven students joined the programme.


  • Fifteen days Computer Literacy Training Program for the teachers of Women's College, STS High School, Abdullah Primary School and retired faculty members of Women's College was organised  from 15th May to 30th May 2014. Thirty three members were participated in the training program, updated their knowledge in Computers and obtained Smart Classroom teaching practice.
  • Two-weeks Computer Orientation Programme-'Efficiency in Computer Skills' was successfully organised for the teachers of Women's College and Abdullah Primary School, from 15th April to 30th April 2014.
  • The teachers and staff members of the Career Planning Centre visited  Surajkund Fair,  Haryana in  February 2011, 2013 and 2014; with the aim of inducting new ideas for the courses operational at the centre.
  •  Salad and Soup Preparation Competition was held in February 2014.
  • Two days National Workshop on EXCELLENCE, EMPLOYABILITY AND ENTERPRISING SKILLS OF WOMEN was held  in December, 2013.  
  • Best Uses of Waste competition was organized in November 2013. 
  • Four days Workshop from Pedilites on Painting and Designing of fabrics and other surfaces was organised in November, 2013.
  • A Beauty Week was organized from 17th  December to 22nd December 2012.  All students of Beauty Culture (skin care and hair care) participated and applied beauty treatments on their clients. They earned good amount of money which confirmed the successful implementation of the important objective the centre, that is, earning while learning.
  • A Poster Making Competition on the topic  with the title A Beautiful Spectrum of the Women's Worldwas held in December 2012.
  • Slogan writing competition on Save the future of innocents was organized in October 2012.
  • A crash course in English Fluency Development Programme for Girl students was organized from 5th July to 28th July 2011.
  • A short term Computer Literacy Programme for the bonafide female students of A.M.U as well as for female external students was organized from 7th July to 29th  July 2011.
  • Salad Making Competitionwas held in February 2011, the salad were made with themes which  depicted social issues with a lots of creative skills.
  • Mehndi Competitionwas organized for Career Planning Centre students and other students on 15 February 2011 to show their artistic talents and creativity.
  • International Women's Daywas celebrated with the collaboration of TIMES in 2011.
  • Workshop on Hair Carewas held in 2011. The resource person Mr. Habib Ahmad of HABIB'S spoke on hair maintenance and styling.
  • Educational tours were organized to  Dilli Haat, New Delhi; Fatehpur Sikri and Red Fort, Agra.
  • One day workshop was organized onWomen's Development through Entrepreneurship Programmesin 2010 (Sponsored by NRDC-National Research Development Corporation).
  • Five daysWorkshop on Women Entrepreneurshipwas held in 2006 with the collaboration of  NIESBUD (National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development).
