Program educational objectives (PEOs) of postgraduates are:
Graduates continue to learn chemistry in classrooms, and advance their careers through self-study, group discussion, seminar, industrial visit, internship, dissertation, and practical training in chemical laboratories.
Graduates will be engaged in research projects to gain advance practical knowledge and research experience.
To provide significant opportunities to make their future career in research and to get employment in academia and industries by advancing their theoretical and practical knowledge.
At the end of the program, graduates will be able to:
Understand the advance concepts of organic, physical, analytical, inorganic, and industrial chemistry, and their application.
Execute innovative and critical thinking in chemical sciences, which they have developed from theory classrooms and practical labs.
Identify the given chemical problems and analyse them using scientific tools.
Interpret the data collected from an experiment.
Communicate well with others, make effective presentations, and write scientific reports and documents.
Handle analytical techniques such as UV-Vis and Fluorescence spectrophotometer, FTIR, Polarimeter, Chromatography etc.
Understand the major thrust areas in chemical sciences to do their future doctorate and jobs in industries or academia.
Our current PEOs for graduating students are as follow:
To train PG graduates with higher qualifications for Industries and educational institutes.
To impart knowledge of industrial chemistry to students that comprises of good balance between pure and applied areas of chemistry along with subject of chemical engineering through classrooms teaching, self-study, group discussion, seminar, industrial visit, internship, dissertation, and practical training in laboratories.
To provide proper Industrial training and exposure to the students to real work environment
of R&D, Quality Control and Production units of Chemical Industries such as Pharmaceutical, Paints, Polymers, Petrochemicals, Metal Refining Industries etc.
At the end of the program, graduates will be able:
To possess requisite skills to be placed in Chemical Industries as well as Academic & Research Institutes.
To handle the problems of Chemical Industries through design & development of new protocols of new chemicals and products with better quality and lower cost.
To be hired for higher positions in Chemical Industries, R& D Labs, Research and Educational Institutes.
To acquire professional ethics, responsibilities, leadership qualities, and the importance of teamwork.
To communicate with others, make effective presentations, and write scientific reports and documents.
To handle general laboratory and sophisticated instruments used in chemical laboratories.
To have sufficient research aptitude to handle their future doctoral work as well as in industries or institutes.
