The thrust area at under graduate and post graduate courses covers Ancient, Medieval, Modern and Post Modern studies and practices in Art. The studio training comprises conventional art techniques such as wash, graphics, traditional crafts as well as modern emerging medium like  creative  and mix-media painting, digital art, video art, installations etc.

The research program covers the art history and criticism of Ancient, Medieval, Modern and Post Modern period while special attention is given to the contemporary and global trends relevant to Indian Art.
