Sheeba Hamid is Professor, Coordinator&Training and Placement Officer of
MBA(Tourism & Travel Management)
at Aligarh Muslim University.She is a Member of the National Rural Tourism Council at WICCI (Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry)She held the position of
Provost of Indira Gandhi Hall for Girls at AMU, responsible for the residential arrangements of 700 girls. She has served as Assistant Dean Students’ Welfare, AMU, and Nodal Officer, UGC Online Grievance Redressal Portal. She is a member of various committees(including NAAC and NIRF) working on different aspects of AMU, Aligarh. She is also Joint Secretary of the National Executive Committee of the Indian Tourism and Hospitality Congress.She is a member of the AMU Women’s Club, a non-profit social welfare organization for women and held the position of Treasurerduring 2020-22.She is also an Allied Member of the Indian Food TourismOrganisation. She is also an invited member of G100(a global platform for joint action empowering “gender equality beyond borders” under the auspices of All Ladies League (ALL)). Sheeba hasbeennominated as State Chair of Uttar Pradesh of the G100 World Peace Wing.

Among her many accomplishments in the field of tourism are 50
academic publications and five books (including the first-ever collection of solved question papers cum guidance to NET/JRF/Assistant Professor Eligibility exams in Tourism Administration and Management).

Her five recent research papers have been recognised by World Health Organization (WHO) and listed under Global Literature on Coronavirus Disease.

She has prepared study material for Open Universities and Distance Education Centers in India.She has also designed and developed a comprehensive Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Business Tourism, available on the Swayam Portal under the Ministry of Education.  Sheeba is a keen researcher and a skilled academia-industry event manager(organised national and international conferences, training programmes, students’ fest, and handled delegations),besides being actively involved in University Administration.She was a Visiting Faculty at the University of Goa in 2014.

She has delivered more than 100 invited talksat various academicevents across India. She is associated with a number of universities in various academic assignments. She is a regular resource person at various national and international conferences. She is a member of several editorial boards of Journals, Research Committees, Selection Committees, and Boards of Studies, Conference Advisory Committees in Tourism and also a Counselor for Tourism Programmes at IGNOU, Aligarh Chapter. She has also conducted AMU Entrance Test Examination (Engineering, Graduation) at outside centres (Lucknow and Srinagar) as a member/team leader (2012-14).She has won awards for Best Speaker, Best Paper and Insight award in various conferences and has several honours to her credit too.She has also been awarded for an outstandingresearch paper by Emerald Publishing, UK. She has been featured among the100 Muslim Women of Uttar Pradesh in the, Achieving Academic Excellence segment by RBTC,Rising Beyond the Ceiling, and An Initiative to Shine a Spot Light on Indian Muslim Women: Their Leadership and Contributions in the Independent India. Besides this, she leads an active corporate and social life.She writes travelogues on social media and short stories too on various aspects.She is a keen traveller, connoisseur of literature, culture, art, photography, cuisine and costumes.
