Completed M.Sc. Engg. (Electrical) from AMU in 1980 and joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, AMU as lecturer in Feb 1980. Taught various subjects at UG/PG levels in Electrical Machines and Power System streams with interest in High Voltage Engineering. To develop the expertise in the area of High Voltage Engg., joined the Department of High Voltage Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and earned the Ph.D. degree under Quality Improvement Programme. After rejoining Aligarh, developed a few new experimental set-ups in the High Voltage Laboratory, designed and developed a Discharge Free Circuitary which could be used up to a level of 400 kV, and conducted two short term training courses. Successfully investigated 03 research projects including one of INR 2.8 million under IRPA Programme during stay in Malaysia. Published 09 Research Papers in IEEE sponsored Conferences held at U.S., Canada, Sweden, Netherlands, Thailand, Iran and Malaysia and attended 05 of them. Main area of specialization is High Voltage Engg. However, special interests are in Electrical Insulation, Partial Discharge Phenomena in Power Equipments, Electrical Machines and their Design.
