Dr. Kamlanand Jha, with 20 years of teaching and research experience, became member of the A.M.U family on 1st February 2017, as he joined as professor in Department of Hindi. Dr Jha is married to Ms. Kalpna Jha, who is a housemaker and they are proud parents of a daughter, Kanupriya. Before joining JNU he has served in different academic institutions of repute - Central University of South Bihar, Gaya as an associate professor and Head of the Department of Hindi and Central University of Haryana as an associate professor. He had two stint in C M College, Darbhanga as well, where he started his teaching career as lecturer and later on as an Associate Professor. Dr. kamlanand Jha belongs to Madhubani (Bihar) and got his initial education from R. K. College Madhubani. He joined JNU for higher education from where he did his MA, M.Phil. and PHD. 'Raja Raadhikaraman Prasad Singh Ki Shreshth Kahaniya (NBT, New Delhi), 'Hoti Bass Aankhen Hi Aankhen (Vikalp Prakashan), both edited by him, are two of his major contribution in the field of literature. Recently, his book Raja Radhikaraman Prasad Singh Ki Shreshth Kahaaniya was translated into English by Manipal University Press. Dr Jha's scholarship goes beyond the realm of language and literature and has keen interest in pedagogy. He has written extensively on Pedagogy and his two books i.e. 'Paathyapustak Ki Rajneeti (Granthshilpi)' and ' Masti Ki Pataskala (Publication Division, Govt. Of India) are highly referred books in this field. He was part of the expert committee for preparing NCERT National Curriculum of Hindi, 2005 and has contributed extensively in developing text books, for different academic institutions. Dr. Jha has written seven Hindi textbooks for Raashtriya Sanskrit Sansthaan for their Graduate Classes. He also developed and prepared course material for IGNOU, E. Pathshaala (UGC), LNMU Darbhanga. He has been a prolific writer since his student days and his papers/articles have been published in some of the most reputed journals/ Magazines like 'Aalochna', 'Hans', 'Kathaadesh', 'Udbhaavana', 'Bahuvachan', 'Natrang', 'Vartamaan Sahitya', 'Samkaleen Bhartiya Sahitya (Sahitya Academy)', 'Aajkal (Publication Division), 'Pariprekshya (NUEPA)', 'Shiksha vimarsha (Digantar, Jaipur), 'Parishad Patrika (Bihar Raashtra Bhaasha Parishad), ' Mool Prashn', 'Samayantar', 'Avinav Bharti (A.M.U), 'Setu', 'Bhaasha (Kendriya Hindi Nideshalay). He has also contributed to the journals published in his mother tongue (Maithili) like 'Ghar Baahar', 'Mithila Darshan ' and Maithili Academy Patrika. A firm believer in the idea of theatre as an emancipatory medium and an agency for change and empowerment Dr. Kamlanand Jha has directed and acted in more than one hundred shows of street theatre.
