Dr. Rahila Rais has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Hindi at Aligarh Muslim University since 2015. She has also worked as an assistant professor at Zakir Hussain Delhi College (Evening) of Delhi University and as guest faculty in Women's College at Aligarh Muslim University. She earned a degree of PhD in Hindi from C.C.S. University, Meerut. Her doctoral work focused on the literary contributions of Surya Kant Tripathi 'Nirala'. She received a degree of MA in Hindi and as well as in History from Aligarh Muslim University and Indira Gandhi National Open University, respectively. Besides securing a degree of B.Ed. with first division, she has also earned a PG Diploma in Linguistics from Aligarh Muslim University. She has attended short term course in Online Teaching and Gender Studies, organized by UGC HRDC centre at Aligarh Muslim University. She has attended a fair number of workshops ranging from topics like the 'Development of E-content', 'Women's Empowerment' to 'Reading and Writings Skills for Research Scholars'. She has published some short stories in popular Hindi magazines namely 'Sahitya Amrit' and 'Samar Lok Trimasik Patrika'. She has presented twenty five papers on different literary topics at national and International Seminars and Conferences. She has around eighteen research publications to her credit, which have been published by reputed journals and magazines.She also prepared course material for ILLL, University of Delhi.

She presented her story in Triveni Sabhagar, Mandi house in a program organized by Hindi Academi, Delhi. And also present talk on A. I. R Agra. She has received awards like 'Sahitya kusumar', 'Rashtriya Pratibha Samman' from Sahitya Mandal, Nathdwara, Rajasthan.
