Prof. Shambhunath, a Professor in the Department of Hindi, has completed his M. A.(HINDI) with a goldmedal from Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi, M.Phil. / Ph.D. with J.R.F.(NET)from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He joined Aligarh Muslim University on 02 November 2010 as Associate Professor in the Department of Hindi. Before his joining A.M.U. He has been selected through Rajasthan Public Service Commission, Ajmer(1995), Madhya Pradesh Public service commission, Indore(1993), Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, Itanagar (1992) and served as lecturer / Associate Professor in the Department of Higher Education, Government of Rajasthan (10-10-1995- 01-11-2010), Assistant Professor in the Department of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh (04-08-94- 09-10-95), lecturer in the Department of Higher Education, Government of Arunachal Pradesh (01-07-92- 30-07-94).

 Having 30 years of teaching experience (25 years of P.G. teaching and 15 years of research experience)Prof. Shambhunath is actively engaging in teaching and research. His area of research interest is the history of Hindi literature, comparative literature and Modern Poetry. The main focus area is the history of Hindi Literature and  comparative study. As teaching interest, He taught courses in Ph.D. (course work), P.G. and U.G. classes. He has published more than 85 research papers / research articles / articles in national level reputed journals. He has Attended more than 40 seminars and presented papers for the same. Four books, as reference books, have been published in his credit. Prof. Shambhunath has been editor / co-editor of the Departmental research journal ‘ABHINAV BHARTI’. He has been the coordinator of Shodh Parishad (2011-2013) and coordinator of Sahitya Parishad (2016–2019). He has delivered many lectures as a resource person in different seminars / workshops /  courses.

 Prof. Shambhunath has received many awards including Rajasthan Sahitya Academy Award (for 2010) for creative writing DHARTI PAR CHAND, Hindi Academy Award for highest marks obtained in M.A. Hindi Exam. He has been nominated as a member of the committee on the development of Urdu Language and jobs in India (2014) through National Commission for Minority (Government of India). He has been also a nominated member of Rajasthan Urdu Academy, Jaipur (2007-10). His 20 programs have been telecast through Door darshan kendra Jaipur (Raj.) on URDU Poetry / Prose. He has also many other national Level awards on his credit. Prof. Shambhunath is associated with SWAYAM / MOOCs of MHRD/ UGC and coordinating a course of "Hindi Sahitya ka Itihas." he has also completed two semesters MOOCS Courses of 4-4 credits successfully in 2018-2019.

 Prof. Shambhunath visited Sydney (Australia) two times for two months & one month, for Social and cultural purposes in June-July 2016 and August 2019 respectively and delivered more than12 lectures on "Indian culture and Literature" invited by the literary and cultural societies, Sydney. Prof. Shambhunath has been selected as Professor of Hindi & Regional Languages (on deputation) in LBSNAA (Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration),  IAS Academy, Mussoorie in 2017.
