Thrust AreaS:

  • Afghan Studies; Worked on 'The diplomatic relation between British Colonial India and Afghanistan.' I also specialize in Diplomatic History in ‘South Asian Perspective.’
  • Diasporic Studies; Another area of my study includes Diasporic studies of Indian Bhojpuri speaking people across the globe during the 19th century. My studies also include aspects of the internally displaced populace during the colonial era. Lately, I have started working on the migration of Afghans during the Sultanate period as part of the Migration Studies.
  • ‘Muslim communities of South Asia’: Primarily a historian of the ‘Muslim communities of South Asia’ from the 17th to the early 20th centuries, myself worked extensively in the domains of socio-Religious, cultural and literary history as I taught 18th Century India. On India specific the study on 18th and 19th century Later Mughal phase and British Empire my more recent work has expanded into Muslim intellectualism of the 19th-century Muslim minds and it's related aspects which include a lengthened study of Shah Waliullah, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and others.
  • My publication includes two research books entitled, Indo-Afghan Diplomacy: A British India Colonial Perspectives’’ and the second one is “Modernization, Regression and Resistance; Amir Amanullah Khan of Afghanistan,” Six Textbooks on various themes of Indian History and also several published research papers on the above-mentioned themes.
  • Represented India on SAARC’s Cultural Forum on several occasion and visited neighbouring countries Pakistan and Srilanka.
