Ruquia Hussain is a Professor in the Centre of Advanced Study in History. She has been teaching graduate and post-graduate students in the Centre since 1991. Her specialization is Medieval India (Economic History) with special emphasis on Trade History and Diaspora Studies. Her doctoral thesis is on "Armenian, Iranian and Turkish" Merchants in India (1550-1800). She has attended a number of National and International Seminars. A number of her articles have been published in various journals and books. She has recently presented a paper at the 16th World Economic Congress, Stellenbosch, South Africa
