Academic Background:

Mohd Azfar Shaida completed his graduation and post-graduation in Industrial Chemistry from AMU in a year of 2008 and 2010 respectively. Later on, he was granted a scholarship by MHRD to pursue PhD in Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and in 2018 he completed his PhD. He was also a recipient of IIT Roorkee alumni Travel grant to present paper in 6th International Chemistry Conference organized by Department of Chemistry, King Saud University in November, 2016.

Research Background:

Mohd Azfar Shaida recently joined the Department of Industrial Chemistry as a Guest Teacher. Prior to this he was Dr D. S Kothari Post Doctoral Fellow for around two years in Department of Civil Engineering, AMU under the mentorship of Prof Izharul Haq Farooqui. His post-doctoral research was related to the degradation of pharmaceutical waste using Graphene/Ferrate (Fe VI) composite. He also served his duties as Senior Project Associate in the Water Technology Management Division, CSIR-NEERI under the project related to groundwater testing of 75 districts of U.P. During his research he published 10 full research articles in reputed journals like Journal of Materials Chemistry A, Journal of Cleaner Production, Chemosphere, Journal of Water Process Engineering, etc. Dr Shaida also gained expertise in operating some sophisticated instruments like ICP-MS.
