Dr. Shahnawaz Ahmed Malik serves as the Coordinator of the Department of Law at AMU Centre Malappuram and holds the position of a senior Assistant Professor. With a tenure dating back to 2013, he has contributed significantly by fulfilling diverse academic and administrative roles at the AMU Centre.
Dr. Shahnawaz specializes in Constitutional Law and Human Rights, with a particular emphasis on Minority Rights and Women's Rights. Additionally, he has proficiently taught various subjects such as Administrative Law, Indian Contract Act, Cyber Law, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Criminology, Pleading and Drafting, Labor Law, Women and Law, and Legal Methods.
His scholarly endeavors encompass publications in esteemed legal journals and magazines, some of which have been referenced by reputable sources. Dr. Shahnawaz has also chaired sessions, delivered numerous invited lectures, speeches, and talks, and actively participated in national seminars, conferences, and workshops across various institutions.
An instrumental figure in the development of the Department of Law at AMU Centre in Kerala, Dr. Malik founded the Law Society, where he has been instrumental in nurturing students' lawyering skills since 2013. His efforts have led to the successful placement of well-trained students.
Proficient in organization, Dr. Malik has orchestrated several programs, national webinars, seminars, and at least seven Law Festivals, all centered on legal competitions.
Dr. Shahnawaz has actively elevated the visibility of the AMU Malappuram Centre and its faculty members by efficiently managing the Public Relations Committee of the English/Hindi/Urdu section. The center's news and updates regularly feature in both print and online national publications due to his efforts.
Moreover, during his tenure of over four years as Assistant/Deputy Proctor, Dr. Malik effectively upheld discipline within the campus, ensuring a conducive environment for academic pursuits.
