Dr. Shakir Ahmad Naikoo is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Kashmiri Section, Department of Modern Indian Languages, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He joined the Aligarh Muslim University in 2018 and completed his Ph.D. in 2023. He worked on the Kashmiri Children's Literature for his doctoral thesis. Since joining the MIL department as an assistant professor in April 2024, he has taught postgraduate and undergraduate classes. He has been empanelled as a consultant interpreter in the Lok Sabha Parliament of India since January 2024. He is also a news reader at All India Radio, Srinagar. He has worked as a consultant at the University of Delhi. He is author of the two books titled GulchiinKǝ:shri Shur' Adbîch Mɔla:nkwan.  He has published several research papers in the UGC Care listed and peer-reviewed journals. He has assisted in holding national and international seminars and conferences in the department. He has presented papers and participated in conferences, seminars, and workshops at the national and international levels. His areas of interest are children's literature, folk literature, fiction, non-fiction and language studies. He regularly contributes research articles to journals, magazines, and books.
