Dr. Sarah Javed is a Assistant Professor in department of Psychology and Assistant Coordinator of Student Counselling Center at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU. Her research focuses on cognitive remediation in schizophrenia and depression. She holds extensive academic qualifications, including a P.G. Diploma in Guidance and Counseling, Diploma in Linguistics, an M.A. in Psychology, and a B.A. Honors in Psychology, all from AMU.
Dr. Javed has contributed significantly to the field of psychology, with numerous awards such as the Zakir Hussain Foundation Visionary Verve Award (2024),Young Scientist Inspirational Women Award (2021) and multiple best paper presentation awards at national and international conferences. She has also earned prestigious fellowships, including the ICSSR Doctoral Fellowship, Maulana Azad National Fellowship and Post metric UP government scholarship.
As a faculty member at AMU, Dr. Javed has been actively involved in teaching, mentoring, and administrative roles, such as Assistant Coordinator at the Student Counseling Center and Ph.D. entrance test coordination. She has supervised multiple dissertations on adolescent psychology and mental health. She has also served as a resource person for various workshops and conferences, presented papers at international forums, and published research in reputable journals. Dr. Javed is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association, and has authored various books and chapters related to the field of psychology. She has published many papers in prestigious national and international journals. Her work has a strong focus on Cognition, adolescents, mental well-being, cognitive Remediation therapy, mindfulness etc, making her a prominent figure in both academic and clinical settings.
