Interschool G20 Summit Quiz Competition Organized at AMU Centre Murshidabad
Aligarh Muslim University Centre Murshidabad organized the Interschool G20 Summit Quiz Competition on 20th August, 2023, celebrating the G20 Presidency of India. The quiz was organized as a part of local outreach program of the Centre under the guidance of Dr. Nigamananda Biswas, Director, AMU Centre Murshidabad. In the Prelims Round of the bilingual quiz, conducted in English and Bengali, 39 teams from 11 public and private schools of Murshidabad district participated. 05 teams qualified for the Stage Round of the quiz competition.
Dr. Md. Rakibul Islam, In-charge, G20 Programme Committee and Assistant Professor, Department of Law presented the welcome address.
The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Syed Atif Jilani, Acting Officiating Director and Course Coordinator, MBA (Unit).
The Quiz was hosted by Dr. Md. Sarwar Alam, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration. Dr. Rasheed Ahmad, Assistant Professor, Department of Education delivered the vote of thanks.
School Students Outreach Initiative at AMU Centre Murshidabad
As a part of local outreach initiative, students from nearby schools of AMU Centre Murshidabad visited the campus and interacted with the faculty and students of the Centre. On 2nd August, 2023, students of Ahiran Hemangini High School visited the Centre while on 3rd August, 2023, students of Ahiran Sachinandan Girls High School made the visit. The students were accompanied by their respective teachers.
The visiting students went on to see the administrative block, academic block, library, hostels, and faculty chambers in AMU Centre Murshidabad. In the interactive session, Acting Officiating Director, Dr. Syed Atif Jilani, Assistant Professor & Course Coordinator (MBA) appraised the students about various courses and opportunities in higher education. He also informed about the functioning of the University and the Centre. Dr. Mohd Talib Siddiqui, Assistant Professor, Department of Law and Dr. Md. Rakibul Islam, Deputy Proctor & Assistant Professor, Department of Law also interacted with the students.
The students expressed their happiness in getting acquainted with the Centre and also appreciated the green beautiful environment of the campus.
Micro Learning Centre (MLC) Inaugurated by Director In-charge, AMU Centre, Murshidabad
Dr. Nigamananda Biswas, Director In-charge, AMU Centre, Murshidabad inaugurated the Micro Learning Centre (MLC) supported by Azim Premji Foundation in Bahagalpur Village of Suti-I Block on 15th August, 2021. He was accompanied by Dr. Syed Atif Jilani, Course Coordinator In-charge-MBA, Mr. Asif, Course Coordinator-BALLB, and Dr. Md. Rakibul Islam, Assistant Professor, Department of Law.
Micro Learning Centre (MLC) Inaugurated by AMU Centre, Murshidabad Faculty Members
Faculty members of AMU Centre, Murshidabad inaugurated a Micro Learning Centre (MLC) started by NGO Thanal on 02nd October in Ramdoba Village of Murshidabad district. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest of the inauguration function, Dr. Syed Atif Jilani, Public Relations Officer and Assistant Professor, AMU Centre, Murshidabad exhorted the parents and children to learn time management to succeed in life. Mr. Asif, Course Coordinator, BALLB and Assistant Professor (Sociology), Department of Law encouraged the parents to inculcate good habits in their children. Dr. Aminul Haque, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration citing various examples of successes from local community urged the students to enumerate them to be successful in life.
The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of Aligarh Muslim University Centre, Murshidabad conducted the new voter education outreach program on March 25, 2021 at Booth No 36, Village Nejampur under GP Kasimnagar, Block Suti-II, Murshidabad. The outreach program was organized as a part of Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, a flagship program of the Election Commission of India for voter education.
Mr. Mofikul Islam, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration and Nodal Professor of ELC, AMU Centre, Murshidabad met with around 200 new voters. He discussed the importance of elections and the rights and duties of the people as enshrined in the Constitution of India. He created awareness about the significance of voting and requested the new voters to exercise their democratic rights judiciously.
AMU Centre, Murshidabad Concluded the Six-Month Computer Typing Course
AMU Centre, Murshidabad concluded the Six-month Computer Typing, Internet and MS Office course on April 17, 2017. The Chief Guest of the Valedictory Function was Mr. T Balasubramaniun (IAS), SDO, Jangipur. The function was Presided by the Director of the Centre, Dr. Badaruddoza. Around 200 students, mostly girls, received certificates on successful completion of the course. Dr. Syed Atif Jilani, course coordinator, gave an introduction of the course. Ms. Darakshan Nigar, B. Ed. final year student and co-instructor of the course, welcomed the guests.
