2018-19

The Centre of Continuing and Adult Education and Extension in collaboration with English Language Teachers Association of India Aligarh Chapter organized a series of workshops on Technical Writing Skills under the Action Research, Project granted by English Language Teachers Association of India.The inaugural session for the project was conducted on 18th January 2019 at the CCAEE.The session started with welcome speech from Professor Mohammed Gulrez, Director, CCAEE, who congratulated the ELTAI for taking up the project for the benefit of members from the lower strata of the society.Pro Vice Chancellor of AMU, Prof. M Hanif Beg, in his presidential address praised the Centre and ELTAI for taking initiatives to help learners overcome difficulties in their formal writing practices.Dr Muneer A Kuzhiyan, Assistant Professor, Department of English and Joint secretary, English Language Teachers Association of India, Aligarh Chapter, spoke about
the
various activities of ETAI Aligarh chapter towards the benefit of students and stakeholders of the University.Dr AyshaMunira Rasheed , Principal Investigator of the Project and Deputy Director, CCAEE, discussed objectives of the project and its benefits for the learners at the centre.Dr Shameem Akhtar, Assistant Professor, Centre for Continuing and Adult Education and Extension proposed the vote of thanks.The event was conducted by Dr Alisha Ibkar, Assistant Professor  Department of English & President ELTAI Aligarh Chapter and Co-Investigator of the project.

2017-18

WORKSHOP ON FOOD PROCESSING: (From 26th to 28th February 2018)


The centre organized a three -day workshop on ‘Food Preservation and Processing’ in informal mode of learning. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Hameeda Tarique, a renowned paediatrician and wife of the Vice– Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Prof Tarique Mansoor. In her inaugural speech she said that preserved food is a good way to make seasonal produce available round the year. She also pointed out that adding vitamins and nutrients to processed food could take care of the loss, occurring during stocking. She also urged women attending the workshop to think about and take up entrepreneurship. Prof. Naima Khatoon (Principal Women’s College) assured that the Women’s College will collaborate and cooperate with the Centre wholeheartedly. Dr. Stephen Popp (Research Fellow, Austrian Academy of Sciences, Vienna Austria) highlighted economic, physical health and spiritual reasons which make food processing important. While welcoming all the guests, dignitaries and stake holders Prof. Mohammad Gulrez, Director of the Centre discussed various programmes of capacity building for the underprivileged section of the society and gave a concrete plan of actions. He also added that the Centre is maximizing potential with out-reach programmes for the empowerment of the 18 underprivileged. This workshop was organized in collaboration with Aligarh District Food Processing Unit.

On 23.11.2017, a workshop on “Entrepreneurship” was organized in collaboration with Department of Home Science, A.M.U. Aligarh at the Centre of Continuing and Adult Education and Extension, A.M.U. The students of M.Sc. first year performed a Nukkad Natak on the theme of “Earning money through learning” Through the Nukkad Natak students tried to emphasize the importance of Entrepreneurship. The Director of the Centre
explainedthe topic and said there is no concept of economy without learning. Dr. Saba Khan, Faculty Member of Home Science, Dr. Shamim Akhtar, Ms Musharraf Jahan Assistant Professors CCAEE  including Mujahid  and other office staff participated in the programme.
