Therefore, PhD holders can pursue careers in university level teaching in govt. and state universities, Research, Creative Writing, Comparative Literature Critiquing, Reviewing and Editing manuscripts, Research and Development.

The Ph. D. Programme in the Department of Arabic aims to equip the research scholars with the skills necessary to undertake independent research in the field of Arabic Language and Literature, to evaluate and analyse the research work done so far in the thrust areas (Classical, Medieval, Modern and Indo Arab Literature) as well as to produce original studies on different trends, phenomena, and iconic figures of Arabic Language and Literature at present and in the past. The Programme also endeavours to hone the critical approach of the scholars.

The Programme is designed to familiarise research scholars with advanced research methods, trends and technology, as well as to train them in the technique of editing rare Arabic manuscripts.

The programme also properly guides the research scholars to produce original research papers which are suitable for publication in indexed, UGC CARE List and peer-reviewed/refereed Arabic journals.
