B.A. in Women’s Studies aims to conscientise students about nuances of identity formation and contribute towards building capabilities essential for the process of social transformation.

• Develop critical thinking on societal issues and analyse the ways in which gender, race, ethnicity, class, cast and sexuality contribute to constructing social, cultural and biological experiences of both men and women in society.

• Articulate how Women’s Studies as a distinct discipline is connected to other disciplinary fields within academia.

• Augment their analytical skills and equip them to work effectively for the cause of social justice.

• Enhance the competence to work with individuals, groups and communities for progression towards just and egalitarian society.
