The mission of the Ph.D. (Remote Sensing & GIS Applications) programme is to educate post graduate students of Remote Sensing & GIS Applications to build careers in academia, government agencies and industry. The main objectives of the Ph.D. programme are: 

(i) To encourage students to experience research in close relation to sustainable development of the environment and society. 

(ii) To engage students to work in different areas of geospatial research, new methodologies and algorithm development

(iii) To provide research and educational opportunities in solving complex problems related to earth, environment, society, resources etc.

Comprehensive understanding: To provide education that leads to comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of Remote Sensing & GIS Science

Scientific communication: To ensure effective communication of students with remote sensing and GIS working professionals.

Information and technology Skills: To enhance information and technological skills with emphasis on updated scientific literature.
