Master’s Degree or its equivalent, recognized by the University in a subject relevant to her/his
proposed field of research with not less than an aggregate of 55% marks or its equivalent grade
‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale (or an equivalent overall average grade point wherever grading
system is followed),
Note: The candidate should also had obtained the Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent
recognized by the University with not less than an aggregate of 50% marks or its equivalent
grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale (or an equivalent overall average grade in a point scale
wherever grading system is followed), subject to any further requirements for eligibility that
may be laid down by the University from time to time.
The mission of the Ph.D. (Remote Sensing & GIS Applications) programme is to educate post graduate students of Remote Sensing & GIS Applications to build careers in academia, government agencies and industry. The main objectives of the Ph.D. programme are:
(i) To encourage students to experience research in close relation to sustainable development of the environment and society.
(ii) To engage students to work in different areas of geospatial research, new methodologies and algorithm development
(iii) To provide research and educational opportunities in solving complex problems related to earth, environment, society, resources etc.
Comprehensive understanding: To provide education that leads to comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of Remote Sensing & GIS Science
Scientific communication: To ensure effective communication of students with remote sensing and GIS working professionals.
Innovation: To encourage and guide research scholars to come up with innovative ideas and their effective outcomes.
Professional development: To produce conscientious remote sensing and GIS experts that can work within the interdisciplinary framework of remote sensing and GIS sciences.
Information and technology Skills: To enhance information and technological skills with emphasis on updated scientific literature.
Experimental skills: To provide thorough insight in experimental skills of remote sensing and GIS sciences.
