COURSE.PEO :

  • To develop an elementary understanding about the libraries, their services and importance to the society.
  • To develop a basic understanding about the foundations of Library and information Science and history of libraries.
  • To develop an understanding of the organization of knowledge in different types of libraries.
  • To equip the students with the theoretical and practical aspects of Cataloguing and Classification.
  • To equip the students with an understanding of the concepts and principles of library management and routine technical operations.
  • To understand the students about the concept and wide applications of Information Communication Technology in libraries
  • To help understanding the concept of library automation, library management software packages and their modules for executing different tasks in libraries.
  • To understand the concepts of information sources and services.
  • To understand the criteria for evaluation of major reference sources available in libraries.
