Department of Linguistics
THRUST AREA OF THE DEPARTMENT
Since the inception of the Department in 1968, major thrust areas have been to advance teaching and research in linguistics with special reference to Urdu. Besides several major and minor research projects, the Department also promotes research on Indian and foreign languages. The Department of Linguistics has recently introduced unique and job oriented Master and Ph.D. courses called Language of Advertising Media and Market.
