Dr. Firoz Mohammad was born at Hardoi in India. He got Ph.D. degree on "Mineral Nutritional Studies on Yield and Quality of Mustard" in 1984. He is involved in research and teaching since 1980. He has explored nutrient and growth hormone application strategies for better yield and quality of various crops including those of commercial as well as medicinal importance. He is also working on their physiological and biochemical characterization, particularly nitrate reductase and ATP-sulphurylase in respect of salt tolerance of rapeseed-mustard genotypes. He was awarded D.Sc. degree in 2001 for his thesis on "Mineral Nutrition of Common Alliums - A Physio-morphological Study". He has published about eighty research papers in reputed national and international journals. These includes Journal of plant growth regulation, Journal of Indian Botanical Society, Indian Journal of Plant Physiology, Journal of Industrial Research and Technology, International Journal of Environmental Sciences, Biology and Medicine, International Journal of Applied Biology and Pharmaceutical Technology, Journal of Stress Physiology and Biochemistry, Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Science and Biotechnology, Journal of Herb Spices and Medicinal Plants, Turkish Journal of Biology, Tests of Agrochemicals and Cultivars, Phytosynthetica, Comparative Physiology and Ecology, Electronic Journal of Environmental Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Hamdard Medicus, Acta Agriculturae Scandinavica, SectionB: Plant Soil Science, Journal of Agronomy and Crop Science, Journal of Plant Nutrition, Journal of Plant Interactions, International Journal of Plant Developmental Biology, Acta Physiologiae Plantarum, Indian Journal of Plant Nutrition, Nitric Oxide, Protoplasma, Functional Plant Science and Biotechnology, Agricultural Sciences in China, Journal of Agrobiology, Geobios, Crop Physiology and Molecular Biology of Plants, Bangladesh Journal of Agriculture Research, Muarik Bulletin, , Acta Horticulturae, Physiology and Molecular Biology of Plants, International Journal of Environmental Sciences, Agricultural Reviews, Journal of Stress Physiology, Medicinal Aromatic Plants Sciences, Journal of Integrative Agriculture, International Journal of Plant Science Research, International Journal of Agricultural Research, among others. He has been supervising the research work of Ph.D. students in the various fields of Plant Physiology.
