Dr. Naser Aziz Anjum obtained Ph.D. (Botany) from Hamdard
University (Jamia Hamdard), New Delhi (India), and received post-doctoral
research training at the University of Aveiro (Portugal), Agricultural
Biotechnology Research Centre (ABRC), Academia Sinica (Taiwan) and Aligarh Muslim
University, Aligarh (India).
Dr. Anjum has made significant contributions to the biology of ‘Plant/Crop-Environment Adaptation’. His works have enlightened the physiology and biochemistry of plants/crops, and their adaptation/tolerance to varied abiotic stress factors and emerging pollutants. Over the years, he has worked out S, N, K and phytohormones mediated modulation of plant ascorbate-glutathione pathway components. He has been the pioneer worker to unveil: nano-graphene mediated oxidative stress, antioxidant metabolism and glutathione-redox system, and also glutathione-independent defense system-significance in food crop model. Dr. Anjum has also contributed to the field of phytoremediation, and assessed plant/salt marsh macrophyte chemical pollutants-remediation potential and underlying physiological/(bio)chemical mechanisms.
Dr. Anjum received prestigious research awards from Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) (Portugal), Academia Sinica (Taiwan), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Department of Biotechnology (DBT), New Delhi. He has published > 90 peer-reviewed articles with cumulative impact factor of >300 and ≈5518 citations; edited 15 books and journal special issues; and availed 03 research grants/projects financed by FCT (Portugal), and CSIR and DBT (New Delhi, India). Dr. Anjum has h-index of 39 (SCOPUS: https://www.scopus.com/authid/detail.uri?authorId=23097123400).
Dr. Anjum is the Fellow of The Linnean Society of London (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linnean_Society_of_London); Plantae, American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB), USA (https://plantae.org/welcome-to-our-2019-plantae-fellows/);
Dr. Anjum is also on the Editorial boards of several journals. He is serving as the Managing Editor of Plant Growth Regulation (ISSN: 0167-6903; 2015 – to date) (
); Associate Editor of Frontiers in Agronomy (ISSN: 2673-3218; 2020 – to date)(https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/agronomy/sections/plant-soil-interactions#editorial-board); and Associate Editor of Frontiers in Marine Science, section – Marine Pollution (eISSN: 2296-7745; 2015 – to date) (https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/marine-science/sections/marine-pollution).- KEY PUBLICATIONS
