I did my M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Botany from the Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. I have been teaching graduate and postgraduate classes since 1994. Breeding of pulse crops is my area of research. I published more than ninety papers and review articles both in national and international journals such as Indian Journal of Botanical Research, Legume Research, Journal of Pulses Research, American Journal of Food Technology, Frontier of Agriculture in China, Romanian Journal of Biology and Pakistan Journal of Botany etc. I am a co-editor of four books. I have supervised M.Phil. and Ph.D. candidates on mutagenesis in pulses. I have participated in several conferences. I am a fellow of the Indian Society of Genetics and Plant Breeding.
