Dr Hasan Akhtar Zaidi is presently working as an Associate Professor at Aligarh Muslim University, Department of Chemical Engineering India. He completed his higher education (B.Sc in Chemical Engg  & M.Tech in  Petroleum Processing), including his  PhD degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He was awarded an institute fellowship sponsored by MHRD at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi India, where he worked he worked on Catalytic reaction engineering and alternative fuel development. He has published 36 research papers in national/international journals and conferences. So far, seven students have finished their MTech degree under his supervision. He is a member of several national & international professional /academic bodies. He is a Life member of IIChE (Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers), Senior member of the Asia-Pacific Chemical, Biological & Environmental Engineering Society, Hong Kong and Member of International Association of Engineers (IAENG), Hong Kong and Institution of Engineers (India). He has reviewed various papers in many international journals also (such as Elsevier publication etc.). He has also been invited for one year as an Assistant Foreign Professor in the School of Display and Chemical Engineering Department at Yeungnam University in South Korea from 2008-2009. He won the Ist prize for the “Deactivation studies on catalytic conversion of methanol to Hydrocarbons” research paper, presented during Chemcon 2004 in Mumbai, India. He won the Best Paper Award for the research paper entitled “Kinetic Modeling Studies for Methanol Conversion to Hydrocarbons using MgO and CaO modified HZSM--5 catalysts”, presented during the 2nd International Conference on Engineering and Advancement in Technology ICEAT -2021, India, 16-17th July 2021. His current research areas include Catalytic reaction engineering, Fuel and Energy, Clean coal technologies and Alternative fuel development.
