Dr. Md Palashuddin Sk joined the Department of Chemistry, AMU, as an Assistant Professor in November 2015. Prior to his joining, he worked as an Associate Project Scientist in "Centre for Excellence in Research and Development of Nanoelectronics & Theranostics Devices" at Centre for Nanotechnology, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. He was awarded PhD on "Versatile Applications of Carbon Nanoparticles" under the supervision of Prof. Arun Chattopadhyay (FRSC, FASc), Dept. of Chemistry, IIT Guwahati. He has been awarded JRF and SRF fellowships from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, during his doctoral studies. Besides his research work, he also served the Central Instruments Facility, IIT Guwahati as an operator of SEM, FESEM and TEM for microscopic studies of materials. He received his B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Chemistry in 2007 with the University 2nd Rank and M.Sc. degree in Chemistry in 2009 from Aligarh Muslim University.

His research interest includes the development of new composite nanomaterials for future applications in the area of energy, environment, catalysis, sensing (chemical & biological) and optoelectronics devices. His research works have been published in various internationally reputed journals.
