Dr. Asif Siddiqui has been a member of the faculty of Department of Civil Engineering at Aligarh Muslim University since 1997. He received his BScEng and MScEng degrees from Aligarh Muslim University and PhD degree from the University of Southampton, UK. He is a recipient of the University Gold Medal for securing first rank in BScEng. Dr. Siddiqui is a member of the Chartered Institution of Waste Management (UK), International Water Association (UK), International Waste Working Group (Germany), International Solid Waste Association (Austria) and Institution of Engineers (India). Throughout his academic career Dr. Siddiqui has been an active researcher, and has undertaken research particularly in the area of municipal, industrial and solid waste management. He has authored over 40 contributions to technical literature. He has undertaken various consulting assignments in the area of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment. His research interests are mainly focussed on water and wastewater treatment processes and systems, biodegradation in landfills, and waste management. He is actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate environmental engineering core courses covering all aspects of water and wastewater treatment. He is on the reviewing panel of various journals.
