Dr. MK Khan has been awarded PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) under the supervision of Prof. MA Iqbal (IIT Roorkee) and Prof. NK Gupta (IIT Delhi) in 2022. He has worked in the field of Impact Mechanics to develop armour system against projectile impact. During the PhD, he has performed ballistic experiments on ceramic based composite targets and developed numerical simulation models to validate the experimental findings. He has published many articles in peer reviewed reputed journals and conferences based on the outcomes of the study.

Dr. Khan has worked as Senior Research Fellow in the Project "Impact Biomechanics of Human Head" sponsored by TBRL, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. In the project, the behaviour of human head against projectile impact has been studied by performing experiments.

Dr. Khan has worked on flood estimation in his M.Tech dissertation. He has performed regional flood frequency analysis for the regions with limited flood data.
