Engaged in linear and non-linear analysis of structures for the past forty years. During the first ten years predominantly involved in experimental and analytical investigations on brick masonry, reinforced brick masonry and reinforced concrete plate and shells. Later started working on mechanical properties of fibre reinforced concrete especially ferrocement. Response assessment of ferrocement slabs under dynamic environment and the simulation of mechanical behaviour in elastic and inelastic regimes using elasto-plasticity in conjunction with a layered approach employing finite element method with different yield criterion for the different layers were undertaken. Worked on the corrosion resistance and the durability of fibre reinforced composites and nano additive-based composites. Presently working on mechanical behaviour of geopolymer concrete. Successfully completed six sponsored research projects. Received Corps of Engineers Prize, Institution of Engineers of India in 2015. Granted a total of five patents including Indian Patent No: 2771/DEL/2014 “High Strength Cementitious Nano composite Compositions and the Methods of Making the Same” The Patent Office, Govt. of India, September 15, 2020, Australian Patent No. 2021101312 “A Method for Preparing Modified Cement and Evaluating Mechanical and Chemical Properties” The Patent Office, IP Australia, Government of Australia, May 5, 2021, Australian Patent No. 2021103086Process for Preparing High Strength Concrete Using Nano Alumina” The Patent Office, IP Australia, Government of Australia, June 3, 2021, Republic of South Africa Patent No. 2021/04019 “Process for preparing High Strength Concrete Using Nano-titanium Dioxide.” The Patent Office, Republic of South Africa, August 25, 2021, Indian Patent No: 3663/DEL/2014 “Technique for Protection of Ferrocement from Corrosion” The Patent Office, Govt. of India, June 23, 2022.
