Dr. Asma Kazmi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fine Arts, AMU, Aligarh. She has been teaching in the Department since 2003. A throughout first class Asma has earned Gold Medal in her MFA from AMU, Aligarh in 1994. She got her Ph.D. degree from the same university on Islamic Art-forms in Iranian Painting in 1998. Her fields of specialization are: Islamic Art, Portraiture, Landscape and Miniature Painting. Her Master?s level project on Religious Elements in Italian Art: Michelangelo?s Reflection has been published (after revision) from USA in 2012. Her Ph.D. thesis has been accepted by Iran Culture House, New Delhi, for publication. She has published eight research articles. She has participated in Eight National/International conferences/seminars. She contributed papers to them . She has participated in Seven art-competitions and Eleven art-exhibitions including Three solo exhibitions. Moreover, she eagerly wishes to highlight the true spirit of art that inculcates a sense of unity and religious harmony which is the need of the day. She earnestly and sincerely wants to contribute in the field of Fine Arts which is beneficial for modern generation both in aesthetic and commercial terms. Finally, she also wishes to reintroduce to art-lovers the true spirit of Islamic art which is a symbol of great Islamic aesthetics and civilization and unfortunately, has long been rejected and overlooked by the Muslim masses even in the 21st century.
