Research Interests of Dr Rizwan Ahmad includes Earth observation; Geospatial technology applications and GIS data integration. He is doctorate in Geoscience and has vast research & teaching experience in India as well as abroad. He has worked with prestigious institutes like IIRS-ISRO, Forest Survey of India (MoEF & CC, Govt. of India), Dehradun and Eritrea Institute of Technology (EIT), Asmara, Eritrea (North East Africa)as Assistant Professor of Geospatial technology. He also had an opportunity to work in ISRO (Respond) project. Dr Ahmad is specialized in Remote sensing & GIS applications and Applied geology.
Dr Rizwan has also completed numbers of certified Training Programs of NASA’s Applied Remote Sensing during 2020 - 2023, including Citizen science connecting Remote sensing, Assessing data from Geostationary satellite, GEE for land monitoring, SDG monitoring, Hyperspectral data, UHI, WQ and Species distribution.
His major publications are in applied geoscience using geospatial techniques; Dr Rizwan worked as Knowledge Partner in "UN-SDGs Goals 2030" using geospatial and statistical data in LK Singhania Education Center (participating UNESCO asp.net), Rajasthan. He has been designated as Second point of Contact for United Nations – Global Geospatial Information Management Academic Network (UN GGIM) by this University in 2020. Dr Rizwan has honor to embedded High-resolution satellite data of University campus in historical event of "TIME CAPSULE" on occasion of University Bicentenary Celebration 2021. He has served as a reviewer in many journals of repute, in which IEEE- Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations & Remote Sensing, Remote Sensing Letters, Journal of Geological Society of India (JGSI), Frontiers in Earth Sciences, Geocarto International, International Journal of Environmental Research, Cogent Food & Agriculture Journal by Taylor & Francis and Disaster Advances are few of them. He is member of Editorial board of CRC Press and also associated with Springer publication to review preliminary book information of several book proposals. Dr. Rizwan has also served in various university administrative positions like Assistant Superintendent of Examinations, Examiners, Scrutinizer, Verifying officer and Tabulator etc. from time to time.
