After passing 10th standard from Govt. Jublee Inter College, Lucknow in 1965, I came to AMU and passed M.B.B.S. with IV position in 1972 and MD (Medicine) in 1978 from JN Medical College, AMU, Aligarh. After completing 3 years of clinical registrar-ship in Medicine, joined the then CCRIM & H, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, as ARO and RO till March 1980. Thereafter, joined as Medical Specialist in the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, Iran. There I gained significant experience in General medicine, Cardiology and performing Haemodialysis. During Iraq-Iran War also treated patients of Chemical injuries due to WMD. I came back to India in 1987 and joined the department of Moalijat, A.K. Tibbiya College, AMU, as Lecturer in Modern Medicine and am now working as Professor in the Department. My research interest is in cardiology, apart from neurology and endocrinology. However, being the only teacher of Modern Medicine I try to cover clinically important chapters with emergency management of poisoning and acute life threatening clinical situations. Some journals of repute in which my papers have been published are: Hamdard Medicus, Indian Journal of Traditional Knowledge, Indian Practitioner, Antiseptic etc.
