A graduate and post graduate in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (Formerly University of Roorkee) and Ph.D. from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh without Supervisor. Worked in Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun and IVRI (ICAR) at Izatnagar as Scientist (Chemical Engineering). Joined as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Chemical Engineering in December, 1980 as its founder teacher and was promoted to the Post of Reader (Associate Professor) in March, 1985. Joined as professor in the Institute of Petroleum Studies and Chemical Engineering, A.M.U., Aligarh in March 1993 and was appointed as full-time Director of the Institute of Petroleum Studies and Chemical Engineering in September 1993. Prepared a comprehensive report to generate teaching and research activities and submitted the same to the various organizations. The University authorities agreed to convert the Institute into a full-fledged Faculty of Petroleum Studies and to start the following courses: (i) A two year M.Tech. (Petroleum Processing and Petrochemical Engineering) Course (ii) A Four year B.Tech. (Petrochemical Engineering) Course. A number of Laboratories were set up to meet the teaching requirements of the B.Tech. and M.Tech. courses. Created Research Facilities in the Area of Heat Transfer to Boiling Liquids, Corrosion Inhibitors & Generation of Kinetic Data. Worked as Chairman, Department of Petroleum Studies for Three terms, Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology and Principal, Zakir Hussain College of Engineering & Technology, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.
