Dr. Daud Khan is currently working as an Assistant Librarian at the Maulana Azad Library, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, India. Earlier, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science, AMU, Aligarh and as a Guest Faculty in the Department of Basic Science, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology (SVPUAT), Meerut. Dr. Khan obtained B.Sc. (Physics), B.Lib.I.Sc., M.Lib.I.Sc. and a Ph.D. degree in Library and Information Science from AMU, Aligarh. He has qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, and was awarded Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Senior Research Fellowship (SRF).
Dr. Khan has ample research publications in national and international scholarly journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and ABDC including Health Information & Libraries Journal, Scientometrics, Library Hi Tech, Information Discovery and Delivery, Global Knowledge, Memory & Communications, Collection and Curation, Science & Technology Libraries, and Journal of Information and Knowledge Management etc. Notably, his two Scopus-indexed research papers entitled “Vaccine Hesitancy among Library Professionals: A Case Study of Indian Health Science Librarians” and “Health information seeking among general public in India during COVID 19 outbreak: Exploring healthcare practices, information needs, preferred information sources and problems”, published in Journal of Hospital Librarianship and Library Philosophy and Practice respectively, have been recognised by World Health Organization (WHO) and included in the Global Literature on Coronavirus disease.
Dr. Khan has presented numerous research papers at international and national conferences and seminars held in India and abroad. He has also received a Best Paper Award for his work. Dr. Khan serves as a reviewer for esteemed Library and Information Science journals, viz., VINE Journal of Information and Knowledge Management Systems (UK: Emerald), Library Hi Tech (UK:Emerald), Global Knowledge, Memory and Communication (UK: Emerald), The Bottom Line (UK: Emerald) and DESIDOC Journal of Library and Information Technology (India: DRDO). His research interests include Knowledge Management, Scholarly Communication, and Bibliometrics.
