Profile: Dr. Abdul Jabbar working as Associate Professor in the Department of Arabic A.M.U. Aligarh.
He has joined the Department of Arabic A.M.U. Aligarh. As lecturer in 1999 and obtained his M.A. ,M.Phil. and Ph.D. Degrees from A.M.U. Aligarh. He has qualified NET and JRF awarded by UGC. He obtained Research associate ship from UGC also. He has completed his Fazil Degree from Darul Uloom Deoband a famous Islamic institution situated in Deoband, Saharanpur, UP. His area of interest is Medieval period, Indo Arab Literature and Translation. He has produced a good research entitled, “ Arabian Elegies ( Al- Marathi ) of the Abbasi period: A critical study of verses up to the 3rd century A.H.’’ He has also written a book on “ Abul Atahiya and his Zuhdiya poetry: A critical study of his verses’’.
He has four books and has written more than 18 Article and research papers in Arabic and Urdu languages published in the reputed Journals of India and abroad on various aspects of Arabic Literature.
Apart from this he has participated and presented papers in more than 16 National and International Seminars and conferences. So far 8 students have successfully completed their research work under his supervision.
Besides he has been engaged as examiner and paper setter in various Universities and govt. Commissions and actively participates in academic activities of the Department. He contributes to the Corporate life of the University as well.
