  • In our group, we are working on the study of the oxide materials in bulk form as well as in thin film form. We are utilizing the pulsed laser deposition technique for the growth of thin films in collaboration with UGC-DAE CSR, Indore. Also, we have equipment in our lab, for polycrystalline sample synthesis by solid state route or by chemical route. To alter the properties of films, we sometimes irradiate these films using ion beams from the pelletron accelerator of the Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), New Delhi. Specifically, we are working on vanadium oxides (VO2 and V2O3), cobaltates (La2-xSrCoO4), and Indium oxides (In2O3) based materials. All of these materials are chosen for their applicability in energy harvesting (directly and indirectly). Such as VO2-based smart window materials in thin film forms, cobaltates for the waste heat conversion into electricity, and indium oxides-based materials for optoelectronics.
  • I have supervised four students for the Ph.D. degree. I have supervised a number of students for their post-graduate projects. A number of research projects in the field of Condensed Matter Physics have been sanctioned to me by agencies such as UGC-DAE CSR, Indore, and Inter University Accelerator Centre, New Delhi.
  • I taught Analog electronics, Digital electronics, and Microprocessors at the postgraduate level and Electricity and magnetism, Electronics, Optics and electromagnetism, Condensed Matter Physics, etc. at the graduate level. I was the convener of the syllabus review committee for postgraduate and undergraduate courses in electronics in the Department of Physics, AMU, Aligarh.
  • I worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of General Sciences, Yanbu Industrial College, KSA, and was a member of the Technical Evaluation Committee, Quality Assurance Programme, and Curriculum Committee. I have developed a course in physics for the students of geomatics engineering students.
