Dr Shakeel Ahmad is involved in teaching and research for the more than twenty years. Besides the undergraduate courses he is teaching/taught courses of High Energy Physics, Computational Physics and Simulation Techniques to the Postgraduate and M.Phil./ Ph.D students. His area of research is Experimental High Energy Physics. For the past several years he is working on the frontiers of Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions and has published research papers in various refereed journals, like Journal of Physics, Physical Review, Heavy Ion Physics, Chaos Solitions and Fractals, Acta Physica Polonica, International Journal of Modern Physics, etc. He is Project coordinator of an International Collaboration, code named, ALICE and is involved in Involved in the analysis of ALICE data on p-p, p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions to study 1) production of J/$\Psi$ and 2) correlations and event-by event fluctuations. . Dr Ahmad is also a part of 1) India-based Neutrino Observatory (INO) Collaboration and is sharing the responsibility of validation of simulation code relating to freeze-out the design of Iron Calorimeter to be fabricated for INO and 2) GRAPES-3 (Gamma Ray Astronomy at PeV Energies-phase3)collaboration with TIFR, Mumbai and Japan. He is working on the study of composition of Primary Cosmic Rays (PCR) by using the scintillator and muon detector data by sorting out the muon-rich and muon-poor events. This would help in distinguishing the charged particle or $\gamma$-ray initiated showers.
