SSZ Ashraf earned his B.Sc (Hons.) in Physics from Aligarh Muslim University and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Physics from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. The area of his research falls in the broad domain of Condensed Matter Physics in which it concerns with mainly many-body aspects and transport properties of low dimensional systems, with the present interest focused on graphene and its bilayer. He has published over 50 research papers in reputed international journals like; J. of Phys.:Cond. Matter, JAP, Physica E, Physica Status Solidi B, Physica Scripta, Int. J. of Mod. Phys. B, Mod. Phys. Lett., J. of Alloys & Compounds, Eu. Phys. J. Appl. Phys., World J. of Cond. Matter, and Conference Proceedings. In a teaching career spanning above 22 years, he has taught B.Sc. & M.Sc.Classes at Shibli College, Azamgarh & at the Physics Department, AMU, and B.Tech., B.E. & M.Tech. (NanoTechnology) courses at Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology, AMU.
